Meet the Team

Meet the equine and other members of the team at Barke Equestrian.

This boy came into Debbies life from our great friend Sheena Ross of Sterling Warmbloods. He is a huge character with a zest for life and sense of humour. Debbie and he "clicked' she seams to like the Gisborne character but this boy has a very good work ethic and high energy levels. We bought Luke as a level 2 horse with a couple of level 3 tests done and he has progressed very fast. Debbie did 4 level 3 tests on him a few months after buying him and then after working through the winter he came out at level 5. In that season he was 3rd in the Advanced section of the FEI World Challenge and was also NI reserve Champion and HOY reserve Champion. He stepped up to FEI level and did a season at PSG also being reserve champion at the NI champs and 3rd at the Nationals level 6. He has natural talent for GP this horse so is now consolidating and strengthening for the step up to Middle and big tour FEI. Lucrative SW made it to CDI level Grand Prix and is still SUCH FUN

RM Limbo

Limbo delighted us with his first outing in April, he kept it all together and took everything in his stide. He is nearly 17.1hh now so we are taking him slowly as he has develop and mature. We are loking forward to a few more outings next season. Reserve Champion at your first show is a good start though! We produced RM Limbo to level 5 and he also evented to 2* level. He was sold to a wonderful home in 2018 and he enjoys jumping beach rides and a small bit of dressage

RM Suzie Q and RM Astek Glamerous

RM Suzie Q has progressed up to L3 and is an intelligent mare who has needed time to feel comfortable with the pressure of competition. We have had some fabulous rides, and she is getting more consistant and relaxed bring on next season

Bred by Carol Eivers of Parkridge Stud we were very lucky to purchase "Doris" as a 3 yr old. She is a beautiful mare and will mature into a stunning and hopefully top class mare. She is By Don Frederico out of and Anamour mare. At 5 yrs old now she is starting to show some maturity and more strength so Peter will continue to produce her as a competition horse. She has had some good results despite being a slow developer, but we really like this mare and are very excited to work with her each day. She is worth giving time to. In the 2018/2019 season Doris stepped upt PSG level and is continuing to train on well towards GP

This super mare is our first grand child!!! By Anamour she is out of our lovely first foal from Didi, MissDit who was by Witzbola. MissDit ( Missy) full sister Lady Mikayla made it to Grand Prix Dressage and Anamour needs no introduction. A very sucessful sire of GP horses here in NZ. Acorn - RM All About Me is very well named and such a lovely mare to have around. Sho LOVES people and has a work ethic to match.  Also very trainable she has lots of natural talent and as a 5 yr old hs established flying changes and good sequence changes 4/3 and 2 times are well on the way. Although only 16hh she is great fun and often used for special clients to have a ride and experience some more advanced dressage. 2019 update this mare has enjoyed the best of everything with her new owners since 2016 the Sages and she has risen to FEI level with Amy being HOY YR champion 2018 and 2019
